Hi! I'm Joe! I started this club because, NYC needs an adventure community and to help my friends, both old and new, blow the dust off their backpacks, and come together as a community of adventure seekers l
In 1988, I thru-hiked the AT from Georgia to Maine. From this point forward, I never returned to an 'office job' and started my career in the outdoors.
Yes - I'm a Wilderness EMT Instructor, having obtained my original certification through SOLO. I'm also a PADI scuba rescue diver, as well as NY State licensed backpacking and rock climbing guide.
Yes - I've hiked the Presidential Range in New Hampshire five times on my annual February 14th adventure trek - which has the worst weather in the world (or so I'm told).
My favorite critter in the outdoors is a moose. One morning in Maine I awoke to the sight of a mother and her calf feeding just 100 feet away. A memory I'll never forget. Least Favorite: Ticks - and homosapiens with poor outdoor ethics!
Anything that doesn't go 2 hours past the 2 second rule (or a Snickers bar)
They love everyone!
