Introduction

I got a rocky face (see my profile pic) on one of my backpacking trips.

Tell us about one of your favorite outdoor adventures.

Backcountry snowboarding and I want to snowboard down the chute of "Tux" and triggre a mini-avalanch or get a chute ride down at Jay Peak in a snow storm.

Do you have current Wilderness First Aid training? If not, would you be interested in getting this certification?

Yes! Certified twice.

Are you a 4-season backpacker? What's the coldest temperature you've slept outdoor in.

-41 degree!

What's your favorite/least favorite 'critter' in the outdoors?

I have had some very close (few feet away) encounters with grizzly bears in Grand Teton NP and Yellow Stone NP and black bears in the Catskills, and I love them.

What's your favorite snack food on the trail?

Snow.

  • Hi TG
it was nice meeting u at the flushing hotpot. happy new year!
i've never met anyone from Mongolia and didn't know how
amazingly extensive the Mongolian empire was.
i have a magazine picture of an iceclimber in switzerland which i've
made into a collage to help inspire me to stay positive, focused, to
look forward in life rather than in the past, and that even if something
looks impossible at first, its possible to dream it and achieve it
    step by step.

  • I'm sorry TG, I didn't rename TNA. I know Tim's the organizer of the stowe trip, I was just helping him w/ CB tour since I have a relationship with the owners and they know me by name, I just gave him Tim's and my name, but I never rename your meetup group. CB tour knows Tim is in charge of Stowe event out of NY & I'm bring a group out of MA. Anyways, it is your group, you are an awesome organizer and I respect your decision. Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

  • Hi TG.
I am very interested in learning outdoor rock climbing. I did couple of times indoor climbing and outdoor rock scrambling level 4 and wonder if this meetup (Rock & Ice) is a good place to learn from more experienced climbers willing to show me the rope (literally).
    Thanks

  • Hi TG,
I joined this group recently and I plan to do a few rock climbing trips this summer. I don't have any climbing / belaying experience. Would you be able to suggest how to get started and the steps involved.
    Thanks!

  • We just learned about the Mongol Empire in my class at university and I had to tell you that the Mongols are bad ass! Now I see where you and Dolgio get it from. Conquering the world and ice climbing are pretty much one and the same in my book.

  • TG, it was the THAI event --- crossed out in the CALENDAR. Please help Dolgio to reinstate the event. Am so sorry!! I did also just let her know.
