Introduction

I have great passion for hiking and backpacking in the outdoors. I grew up in Quito, Ecuador which is a city located smack in the middle of the Andes. As a kid I used to mountain climb on the weekend the peaks in the Andes.

Tell us about one of your favorite outdoor adventures.

Hiking up Mount Cotopaxi, reaching the peak and being able to see the world from all the way up there. My hike from Kootenai Lake to Glen Lake in Glacier National Park.

Do you have current Wilderness First Aid training? If not, would you be interested in getting this certification?

Yes.

Are you a 4-season backpacker? What's the coldest temperature you've slept outdoor in.

4 seasons. Probably between 0-10F. Don't know. It was really cold. I have -30F sleeping bag now.

What's your favorite/least favorite 'critter' in the outdoors?

Dislike, bees, I'm allergic to them.

What's your favorite snack food on the trail?

Carrots, hummus, V8, Gatorade, trail mix, water, tofu dogs, tofu jerky, bombay potatoes with couscous.

So... Xico... It sounds like the Mt. Hood climb is for real ? I'd like to do this. So should i book for the same time frame as you did ?

Hello Francisco and congratulations on a wonderful meetup! I'm a vegan too (of 40 years!) and would love to join...if only I could, since I've passed my primary. lol!
It may take longer than other categories but eventually you'll get more vegetarians to join and learn from you to be vegan. There may be more veggie people to join than people who like, and/or can, do rough sports. This too may take longer but they'll come around if you are patient. Good luck! :)
